On February 15th, the 3rd LOOP Educational Policies Seminar was held at the Institute of Education, University of Lisbon, which aimed to present and debate the report “Educational policy recommendations, based on the implementation of mentor training programs and induction programs, based on mentoring”.

During the morning, policy recommendations were presented and debated with the aim of contributing to the change of management policies of the teaching profession throughout its professional career. The seminar was attended by Dr. Susana Castanheira Lopes, who closed it.

The educational policy recommendations were considered appropriate to the Portuguese context, with the importance of:

– Maintain the flexibility of the induction program, in order to enable it to be adapted to each context and the specific needs of each mentee;

– Assign reduced teaching hours to mentors and mentees;

– Enable the existence of common working times between mentors and mentees.
